Fania 60 Years of Salsa!
To celebrate the upcoming 60th anniversary of Fania the legendary Latin record label, I proposed this mini open air exhibition to be installed in a New City Block in the heart of El Barrio or East Harlem, where visitor can socialize and engage with New York's Salsa history, listen to all original recordings with added oral commentary. The exhibition will also have space for visitors ad their own experiences and thoughts on the black chalk board surfaces.

The square size measuring 7.5 inches was specified by the architect to match his previous publications in height.
The grid chosen for the book considers the whole spread to accommodate the horizontal size of most drawings.
The images and drawings are not completely restricted by the grid but somewhat free as to break up the rigidity of the book.
Here is a concept for a small pop-up exhibition for the book launch party, to be hosted at a storefront in SoHo.
The hanging fabrics break up the squareness of the space and draw the viewer in to view the projects individually as well as in comparison to one another.
