The brand derives its name from the ancient Greek ‘ekleine’ meaning ‘to choose.’ Music is the process of selecting which notes to play and which to omit, this notion of creative choice coupled with the harmonic geometry of musical iconography underlies the identity’s design.
The logo has the potential to change or to remain in a state of motion, capturing the energy and excitement of music.
I collaborated closely with Ekle’s founder Santiago Restrepo to create a set of custom sounds and scores for different initiatives. Music theory inform the animation.
Ekle’s logo is composed of simple geometric shapes that can easily disassemble to form a symphony of notes.
Fabio XM, Rockwell and these custom numerals are combined to create this identity system.
More than just a school, Ekle looks to act as a hub for those studying and playing music for all music enthusiasts.
Currently, I am creating advertising and social content as well as print and digital resources for their teachers and students.
